The title must be taken in the double etymological meaning of twine (“consertum”) and fight (“certamen”). On one side, the musical gestures gain a conflictual role, via mere repetitions; on the other hand, the “solo” passages scan the flowing episodes, navigating on a magma of underlying scores. Far away, towards the end, as the tip of an iceberg, there’s a reference from Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde”.
